Some people are failed once. Jessie was failed again and again.

From childhood onwards, she tried to make police and child protective services understand what was happening to her. Too often, no one acted. What followed was a long battle with her mental health, carried largely alone, until her death by suicide on the 30th of July 2026.

Jessie can not speak now. This book is written with the people who knew her and refused to let her story disappear. It is not only a memorial. It is a record of the injustice that happens when a person asks for help and the system does not respond.

Legal constraints mean the full account is not expected to be published until around 2029. Until then, the work of gathering her story continues.
